8 Years is a multimedia project directed by Justin Palmer Tompkins. The piece is about Kye Umstead, the son of Victoria Umstead, the Narrator, who suffers from food allergies and anaphylaxis. Features a range of shots mixing together to create a piece that forms inspiration for other children bracing themselves daily against inherit fear and nature of anaphylaxis. Victoria focuses on her own personal experiences while parenting Kye and how the hardships have nurtured them into who they are today. Made in company with Briarpatch, the film is also a school project that has hopes on being selected at University of Florida for the Hearst Multimedia Competition.
